This meeting we will be discussing the upcoming convention for the National Stonewall Democrats. The Stoneewall Dems will be forming the following committees to facilitate the organization and execution of the Stonewall convention.
1) Transportation – Chair Bill Fleming – The tentative purpose of this committee would be to interface with Grey Line on transportation issues at the convention. Control point for negotiations/pricing/contract.
2) Silent Auction - The tentative purpose of this committee would be to organize the silent auction. This will involve calling potential donors to solicit donations of items to be auctioned off. Arrange the programming and launch of the event.
3) Delegate Relations/Host Committee - The tentative purpose of this committee would be to establish a public face that delegates will be interacting with before the event and during the event to facilitate their arrival, any information or directions that they need/require. Provide onsite table staffing for questions during convention. Suggested Subcommittees: Ambassadors – on-call people available prior to and during that delegates can contact for quick response to information/directions/help.
4) Opening Night Reception- - The tentative purpose of this committee would be to organize and execute the opening night reception. Interfacing with Hotel relations to make sure all room/requirements are met.
5) Bar Crawl - The tentative purpose of this committee would be to organize and execute the Bar Crawl on Friday. This committee will likely contact Bars for bar tickets, arrange approved bar list. Work with Transportation committee to set bus pickup areas.
6) Saturday Dinner/Cocktail party/Awards dinner - The tentative purpose of this committee would be to organize and execute the VIP cocktail/dinner on Saturday night. This committee would work with Hotel Relations to make sure the room is set up correctly.
7) Booklet/Program/welcome bag - The tentative purpose of this committee would be to set up and publish the booklet/program and coordinating assembly of welcome bag. They would contact advertisers to solicit adds.
8) Speakers – The tentative purpose of this committee would be schedule and obtain speakers for the event. (Friday: Breakfast, Lunch. Saturday : Breakfast, Lunch, Awards dinner)
9) Merchandise - The tentative purpose of this committee would be decide on sellable merchandise (T-shirts, mugs, tote bags) that will be available to sell to delegates.
10) Membership – Chair: Nick Bush- The purpose of this committee would be facilitate the growth and retention of SWD membership.
11) Communications – Chair: Jessica Bowers - The purpose of this committee would be facilitate the growth of the SWD imagine, message.
12) Vital Issues – Chair: Matthew Duckett – Monitor legislative developments, research and discuss relevant issues to the community and the other vital issues to the LGBT community in Colorado.
