Good link - I just returned from a weekend in hellishly expensive New York.
I saw two free exhibits at the library, walked around old art deco buildings like 30 Rock - and ate and smaller cafes and bought fruit at street vendors.
Which saved ample money to go spend at the bars :)
it can be done if you hunt around for specials and deals
