Before the Prop. 8 Protest in Denver

It was pretty awesome to stand back and watch the crowd gather at the Denver City and County building. They came from every direction and encompassed an amazing diversity of gay and gay-friendly Coloradans.

The organizers did a great job of setting this nationwide event up in such short time.

The city of Denver could have done a little bit better of a job informing their employees about a couple of things though. There were a couple of instances of city employees wrongfully telling a couple of people that they could not film or take pictures and one woman who refused to give me her name told me I could not park in designated press parking spots ( I've got media tags and everything) because they were decorating the City and County building for the holidays (more on that later) and needed the press parking spots for a cherry picker they were using to hoist stuff.

I caved in and moved and then Channel 4 and 9 pulled right in behind me and refused to move even though the employees whined and complained.

The city needs to plan better next time they know a scheduled event is taking place.
