Says Buchanan, "I think white men were 100 percent of the people who wrote the constitution, 100 percent of the people who signed the Declaration of Independence, 100 percent of the people who died at Gettysburg and Vicksburg, probably close 100 percent of the people who died at Normandy. This has been a country basically built by white folks."

I wonder if, during his rant, Mr. Buchanan ever stopped to consider that white men were the only people given the right as citizens to sign these important documents and die in these wars. I wonder if he ever even so much as thought about the women and slaves who were automatically ineligible to even voice their opinions.
It lightens my heart to think of how many old white men with this mindset will be seen as obsolete in the coming years, and I hope that even further on in the future this line of thinking will be nonexistent.
