Things to do in Denver when you're gay: Hell On Wheels

Award-winning filmmaker Bob Ray hits Denver's Starz FilmCenter on Saturday, July 17 as part of a DIY film tour to promote the world premier of his new film 'Total Badass', as well as 'Hell On Wheels', his critically acclaimed documentary on the resurgence of roller derby.

Grassroots through-and-through, this tour joins forces with local derby leagues - in this case the Rocky Mountain Rolelrgirls - and film groups to serve up a slice of the Austin magic to theaters across the U.S. and Canada. Presented by roller derby leagues, many of the 'Hell on Wheels' screenings will feature post-screening discussions with reps from local leagues, as well as Ray himself, to further explore the birth of modern derby and examine the connections within the larger community.
