Italy's Gay Village Party to Debut at Winter Party Festival

There’s no fiddling around at Winter Party Festival when Italy’s biggest, award-winning event, Gay Village, presents “Boiling Point: Rome is Burning,” Sunday, March 4, beginning at 10 p.m.  For the first time ever, Winter Party will partner with Gay Village to bring this world-renowned party to Cameo Nightclub, turning it into an orgy of sights, sounds and sensational décor, complete with sexy Italian dancers in gladiator garb flown in just for this event.  In addition to the spectacle of sights, DJ Alyson Calagna will join Gay Village resident DJ Giangi Cappai for this special night of ancient Roman revelry.

Gay Village is a hugely popular summer event in Rome, drawing 300,000 guests from throughout the world to its 10-week-long schedule of events and parties staged throughout a 16-acre historic parkland site. The Gay Village outdoor entertainment complex features multiple bars, two dance floors, an open-air gym, an exhibition space and an outdoor cinema. In 2011, Gay Village was named the #1 “Best Public Event in Italy” by the Best Event Awards.

“Sunday night was huge for Winter Party in 2011, and we’re really going to outdo ourselves this year,” said Victor Diaz-Herman, co-chair of Winter Party Festival. “‘Boiling Point: Rome is Burning’ is going to cement our reputation for epic events throughout the entire festival, and especially on Sunday night, thanks in large part to our partnership with Gay Village and the sights and sounds they’ll be importing to Miami Beach for this experience.”

Produced by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, Winter Party Festival raises funds to build power, take action and create change for the LGBT community. The majority of the net proceeds generated from Winter Party Festival go to work in South Florida through grants administered by The Miami Foundation, while the remainder supports the Task Force’s efforts nationally. Since assuming responsibility for the events in 2004, the Task Force has provided nearly $1.2 million from the proceeds of Winter Party Festival and the annual Miami Recognition Dinner to LGBT organizations in South Florida.
