SAGE of the Rockies invites you to Get in Gear

From Shari Wilkins, SAGE of the Rockies Coordinator:

Our Get in GEAR program is gearing up!  I encourage you to participate in the activities we have scheduled and those new classes/groups which will be scheduled in the very near future.  Watch the SAGE newsletter and the SAGE weekly update for activity schedules and locations. These classes are free to SAGE age community members.

Just a reminder for all of our 50+ community members:

What:  Get in GEAR (GLBT ELDERS ACTIVE IN RECREATION),
a research project of Kaiser Permanente  and a physical fitness and wellness.

Why:  The program is the result of a grant through the local CompreCare Foundation.  The purpose of the grant is to find ways to increase our physical participation through fun activity and to decrease the sense of isolation and depression that many of our aging community experience.

Who:  Any member of the GLBT community who is 50 + years of age.  You may participate as a research subject, if you choose, but you do not have to be a research subject to participate.

The Partners:  Kaiser Permanente, Jewish Family Service, Colorado University, St. Barnabas Parish, the Alzheimer's Association and SAGE of the Rockies at the GLBT Community Center.

To receive more information and to sign up to participate in the research project, email Shari at swilkins@glbtcolorado
