Sociologists' group denounces same-sex parenting study

The American Sociological Association has submitted a brief to the Supreme Court dismantling a high-profile study that found that the children of gays and lesbians suffer adverse effects. 

"The Regnerus study obscures the fact that it did not specifically examine children raised by two same-sex parents. Accordingly, it cannot speak to the impact of same-sex parenting on child outcomes," the brief said. The study has been used to support Proposition 8.
