Michael Lucas is waging war against Olympian ice skater Johnny Weir.
Last week, Weir appeared on the ESPN2 talk show "Olbermann" to
oppose the Olympic and Russian vodka boycotts. Weir said the boycotts
only work to hurt the athletes competing in the Sochi games.
Now, Russian-native Michael Lucas writes on Out.com that Weir's stance proves the out skater does not care about LGBT rights. Lucas contends the boycott will
not harm athletes and in truth, will have little impact on anything. He
calls the boycotts a moral gesture. Its real point is to keep the
Russian LGBT crisis in the news, and to keep people talking about it.
Lucas
also takes offense to Johnny Weir wearing a Russian military uniform on
the show. He believes it mocks the cause and compares it to a Jewish
athlete wearing a swastika while arguing that jews should participate in Hitler’s 1936 Olympics in Munich.
