The Advocate Unveils “40 Under 40” Digital Cover

Today The Advocate unveiled the winner of its digital cover contest. YouTube sensation Tyler Oakley nabbed the most votes and landed him the coveted cover spot. The Oakley cover, designed by Oakley fan Kristina Webb, and feature story is available now on Advocate.com.

Each year The Advocate editors curate a list of outstanding young LGBT persons who have been making an impact on culture, politics, sports, entertainment, and society as a whole. This year, Advocate.com readers were given the opportunity to choose from 10 of this year’s “40 Under 40” honorees and select who would be featured on the publication’s August 2014 digital-only cover. Other candidates for the digital-only cover included Nate Silver, CeCe McDonald, Frank Mugisha, Mary Lambert, Brittney Griner, YouTube couples Bria Kam & Chrissy Chambers and Will Shepherd & R.J. Aguiar, and Janet Mock.
