Colorado Log Cabin Republicans Endorse Donald J. Trump

Colorado Log Cabin Republicans endorsed Donald J. Trump for president today.

Colorado Log Cabin Republicans President George Gramer pointed to openly-gay Silicon Valley-giant Peter Thiel’s speech at the Republican National Convention earlier this year, as an example of how Trump has opened the “big tent” Republican Party that Log Cabin has been fighting for. At a University of Northern Colorado campaign rally on Saturday, a supporter handed Trump a rainbow flag that read “LGBTs for Trump.” Trump then posed for photos holding the flag.

“As a retired Army colonel, national security issues are especially important to me and I’m proud to give a shout of support to Donald Trump on behalf of Colorado Log Cabin Republicans,” said Gramer. “Hillary Clinton’s policies endanger the LGBT community and she has consistently put our nation’s security at risk for her personal gain. We enthusiastically endorse Donald Trump for president because of his commitment to America first, peace through strength and free enterprise.”

Kenneth Wilkison, a member of Colorado Log Cabin Republicans, is one of the group’s fiercest Trump supporters, first to jump aboard the “Trump Train.”

“This is about the future of our country and the safety of the LGBT community. President Trump will keep the LGBT community, and all Americans, safe," said Wilkision. "This is a big issue to a lot of LGBT people, we don’t want to have radical Islamic terrorists endangering our lives and safety, we don’t want to die. Hillary Clinton's policies are lethal and must be stopped.”

Gramer added, “Colorado is a swing state, a very important swing state, and we hope that people will see that Trump has diverse support.”
