Come out for Safe Schools with One Colorado for National Coming Out Day

Tomorrow marks the day that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) Coloradans and their families celebrate National Coming Out Day to spread awareness about the importance of being able to be out and open about who they are and who they love.

One of the best things we can do to support our LGBTQ youth is to create safe and affirming school environments. Click here to sign up for One Colorado's webinar on October 25th to learn exactly how to do that!
Did you know that in 2015 88% of students in Colorado reported hearing anti-LGBTQ remarks from peers and school staff on a regular basis? In fact, sexual orientation and gender expression remain two of the highest reported categories of identity-based harassment and assault in Colorado schools. Despite these realities, there are a number of actions that communities can take to improve the safety and inclusion of LGBTQ students in their schools.
