Barbra Streisand to Launch Exclusive SiriusXM Channel

SiriusXM announced today that it will launch The Barbra Streisand Channel, an exclusive channel featuring the works of Grammy, Oscar, Emmy and Tony award-winning artist Barbra Streisand.

The limited-run channel will launch on Friday, September 12 at 5:00 pm ET and will run through Friday, October 10, via satellite on Sirius channel 69 and XM channel 73. The Barbra Streisand Channel will also be available online on channel 69 and through the SiriusXM Internet Radio App.

The Barbra Streisand Channel, the exclusive, limited-run channel, will feature music spanning Streisand’s legendary career, from her 1963 debut through her newest album, Partners, scheduled to be released on September 16. For Barbra's most loyal fans first, here is the world premiere of "Try To Win A Friend" from her new album Release Me, available everywhere on vinyl today and on CD October 9. The song was one of Barbra's favorites to play as she practiced her new guitar skills for the filming of A Star Is Born; however, the scenes for which she was practicing unfortunately didn't make the final film. In the video above, she discusses the song.

Take a listen to Barbra Streisand singing "I Think It's Going To Rain Today." The song will be included on the album Release Me, a collection of previously unreleased songs spanning a cross-section of her career from 1963 to present. “I Think It's Going To Rain Today” was recorded in 1971 during the Stoney End sessions. Randy Newman, who wrote the track, accompanies on piano. The recording was done in one take while the pair were testing out some of Newman's songs to potentially include on the Stoney End album. Release Me will be available on Vinyl September 25th and CD October 9th.
