The Brain Drain: Elitch Gardens All-New 7 Story Thrill Ride

Here's one more reason to look forward to Pride Day at Elitch Gardens this year! Elitch's will be opening a new thrill ride this May. Brain Drain is a 7-story steel looping thrill ride that sends riders forwards, backwards and head-over-heels in an adrenaline drenched 360° revolution.  

"As we celebrate our 124th birthday, we are extremely excited to add the first thrill ride in a decade to the theme park," said Tracy Durham, Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park's director of marketing. "Guests can let their hair fly as they shuttle back and forth with suspense before wildly looping seven stories in the air. With back to back seats facing either direction, each ride on Brain Drain is a unique experience with great views of the Denver skyline and the Rocky Mountains."

With all the rides, slides and shows at Elitch Gardens, a Season Pass is the best value and with prices rolled back $10 this year, it pays for itself in less than two visits. Season Pass holders can be the first to ride Brain Drain before the park opens to the public, with an exclusive invite to the Season Pass Sneak Peek Party on May 2nd. Denver PrideFest 2013: Pride Day at Elitch Gardens

A longtime tradition, Pride Day at Elitch Gardens takes place this year on Monday, June 17.  I spoke with Jessie Falk, Communications and Interactive Marketing Manager for Elitch Gardens and got her to spill the tea on one of the highlights of Denver Pride.

Drew: In a nutshell, what is Pride Day at Elitch Gardens?
Jessie: Pride Day at Elitch Gardens shows support for the LGBT community, as well as The Center, each year by providing discount tickets to the park on the Monday following PrideFest. Elitch Gardens is the perfect place to come together and relax after a long weekend of celebration.

Each year we host a wide variety of organizations and events ranging from sports teams and charities to religious, political and non-profit groups. We think it’s important to be a part of the Denver community as a whole and that means supporting the groups, like the LGBT community, that make Denver such a great and inclusive city to live in. Elitch Gardens is hosting this event benefiting local organizations in partnership with the LGBT community. We will be donating a portion of ticket proceeds from the event to The Center: Advancing LGBT Colorado.

What rides and events are "must see" for Pride Day at Elitch's?
Being both a theme and water park, there are many options for fun at Elitch Gardens. The first official Pride Day at Elitch Gardens (aka Gay Day at Elitch's) took place Monday, June 18 after years as an unofficial end of Pride event. With triple digit weather, it was the perfect day to splash around in the water park and enjoy some frosty beverages.

"Pride Day at Eltich Gardens Theme & Water Park was FABULOUS despite the record breaking heat," said Tracy Durham, Marketing Director for Elitch Gardens. "We appreciate the GLBT Community coming out to have a good time and raise money for The Center!"
