Casting Call: Five Young Men Wanted for Non-Singing Supernumeraries Roles in 'The Magic Flute'

Opera Colorado seeks five young men with movement/dance training to join our spring 2015 production of The Magic Flute. This exciting new production features supernumeraries (supers) who will be in costume as the Four Elements. The Elements will interact with the principal singers, transforming the world of the opera through physicality, directed stage action, and the manipulation of scenic elements.

Opera Colorado is looking for four individuals to play the parts of the Four Elements, as well as one additional person to act as a Cover. While Opera Colorado is not able to offer payment to supers for participation, each super will receive:

- Two (2) tickets to the Magic Flute Final Dress Rehearsal on Thursday, April 30

- Two (2) tickets to be used for any Magic Flute evening performance

- Parking passes for the DPAC garage for all days in which you are called to rehearse or perform.

Rehearsals begin on Saturday, April 11, 2015 and the final performance is Sunday, May 10.

All rehearsals and performances take place at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in downtown Denver.

Auditions: The Arvada Center Announces Auditions for the musical, Man of La Mancha

The Arvada Center will hold auditions for the musical, Man of La Mancha at the Arvada Center,  November 29 and 30; and in New York City, December 11-13. Arvada Center Artistic Producer, Rod A. Lansberry will direct Man of La Mancha with musical direction by David Nehls and musical staging by Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck.

Denver auditions are November 29 and 30, from 9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m., by appointment only. Call the Arvada Center at 720-898-7200 to schedule a time.

Wojcik/Seay Casting will coordinate the New York City auditions, December 11-13. To be considered for a New York audition, mail a hard copy of your headshot and résumé and indicate the role you are interested in (if known) to the following address:

Experienced performers with strong acting and singing abilities are needed. Strong movement abilities are required.  See the character breakdown (below) for specifics on available roles. Actors should prepare 16-32 bars from a song appropriate to the style of show. Please bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Recorded music or a cappella audition will eliminate casting consideration. A current headshot and résumé are required. Equity members must have a current equity ID card.

This is an Equity LORT B production, non-equity actors will be considered. Individuals of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds including a wide range of ages, physiques are needed and encouraged to audition for all roles.

Rehearsals for Man of La Mancha begin on March 5, 2013. The show opens on March 26 and runs through April 14, 2013. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday evenings with matinees on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays for a total of eight shows per week.

Fashion Stars Wanted: Denver Style Strike

Join us for the filming of a new summer reality series called "Style Strike" at Denver Pavilions every Wednesday through August 15 from noon to 1pm in the plaza.

Just bring an old accessory or two on the specific show date as listed below, and host Samuel Schimek could select you to receive a brand new, on trend accessory from Denver Pavilions. Its FREE and anyone can participate!

Just fill out the short participation form onsite, bring your old item and a smile because you will be filmed! Free Denver Pavilions' gift cards and other prizes will be given to the crowd for their participation.

Casting Call: Miracle on 34th Street

The Arvada Center will hold auditions for the musical, Miracle on 34th Street at the Arvada Center, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd., July 26 and 27; and in New York City, August 6-8. Gavin Mayer will direct Miracle on 34th Street with musical direction by David Nehls and musical staging by Piper Arpan. The Arvada Center Artistic Producer is Rod A. Lansberry.

Denver auditions are July 26 and 27, from 9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m., by appointment only. Call the Arvada Center at 720-898-7200 to schedule a time. With the exception of the children roles required in the script, actors must be 18 years & older to audition. The roles for three boys and three girls (including the role of Susan) between the ages of 6 – 12, will be auditioned in Denver on Tuesday August 14, from 3 – 5:00 p.m.

Casting call for Sundance Channel's 'Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys' at Boyztown


Whew, long headline. Anyways. If your New Year's Resolution is to be a STAR then you might want to head on down to the open casting call for the Sundance Channel's 'Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys' on New Year's Ever from 7-10 pm at Boyztown. I’m working with the Sundance Channel on a casting call for the hit series Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys.
