Pet of the Week: Donnie & Marie

Hey there! Aren't we just so very cute? Our humans left us with the dogsitter, and never returned! What?!? We don't understand because we're just precious.

Marie is my sister. She's the tiny gal on the left. I'm a bit bigger, and I like to watch out for my little sis. We are loving, sweet, and in need of just a bit more potty-training. (MaxFund folks can give you some great advice!)

We would love to be adopted together, but we understand if we must part. As long as we go to EXCELLENT homes, we understand.

The Last Five Years Premieres Tomorrow

'The Last Five Years' is an intimate musical by Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Songs for a New World) that chronicles the five-year relationship between two New Yorkers from their first meeting to their last goodbye. 'The Last Five Years' is a powerful and personal look at marriage told from both points of view – Jamie’s story begins at the first meeting and follows through to the couple’s ultimate breakup, while Cathy relates the story in reverse, from falling out of love back to the first spark of romance. Get more info at www.denvercenter.org.

Letter from the Denver Dems

Was Tuesday a rush or what!?! Denver County alone had over 26,000 people participate in the Precinct caucuses. This was 10 times our usual turnout. Give yourselves a hand!

Where do we go from here? The County Convention and Assembly, of course. It will take place on March 8th at the Colorado Convention Center. We will be meeting in the Wells Fargo Theatre which is on the "Speer Blvd" side of the Convention center. More info about parking etc will be sent as as we get a little closer. The agenda and related information will be mailed to all delegates and alternates at least 10 days prior to the Convention and Assembly.

The Denver Democrats office is a very busy bee hive this week. We are going through the caucus packets, getting all of the delegates and alternates into the computer. During the next week, several committees will begin their work: Credentials, Perm Org, and Platform. If you serve on these committees, keep an eye on your emails from notices from your committee chairs.

Delegate lists and Precinct Committee People lists will be available beginning Monday. All campaigns, candidates, and Subdistrict Officers will be sent lists as soon as they are ready. Resources were made available by the Coordinated Campaign to data enter all of those 26,000+ caucus attendees. We will notify the subdistrict captains when that info is available.

Best Wishes!
Dan Willis, Secretary
Democratic Party of Denver

Paragon Theatre Audition Announcement

Paragon Theatre (Best Year by a Company- Denver Post 2007) is seeking a non-Equity actor for the lead role of “Jonathan” in SIGHT UNSEEN, by Donald Marguiles (“Dinner with Friends”). Jonathan is a 40-something, Jewish, New York artist.

From the Dramatists’ synopsis: Winner of the 1992 Obie Award. This is the story of an American mega-artist so successful he's had the obligatory profile in Vanity Fair and can claim astronomical prices for his works sight unseen from a waiting list of wealthy patrons. InEngland for a retrospective of his paintings, the artist goes into the countryside to visit his original muse and lover, the "sacrificial shiksa" whom he abandoned in his quest for the opulent life which now devours him. "…you can tell when a play has gripped its audience, for no one seems to breathe, let alone shift in his seat. This phenomenon can be observed…at SIGHT UNSEEN, a smart and sad comedy by Donald Margulies." —NY Times.

Rehearsals begin evenings/weekends in late March with performances taking place Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m., May 3-31 at the Crossroads in Five Points. Send your headshot and resume to mare@eliotstreetcollective.com.
