Betty Who - Between You & Me

Following the release of her forthcoming third album’s first single, “Between You & Me,” pop singer/songwriter Betty Who returns with a music video for the acoustic-powered track.

In the video, Betty plays both characters who find themselves navigating a powerful attraction. Of the filming experience, Betty says: “The video was a trip to film because, while playing against myself, I basically have to film the video twice. I never know how it’s going to turn out because as we’re filming it seems so high-concept but when I saw the final product I was so shocked. I can’t believe how bad I wanted me to end up with myself!”

Since the song’s release earlier this month, it has been streamed more than 400,000 times on Spotify and garnered praise from numerous press outlets such as Rolling Stone, NYLON, Idolator, DuJour and L’Officiel USA.

Revry Premieres First Series - 'Putting On' with On Mekahel

On November 30th, slip into Revry’s first original reality series "PUTTING ON" which follows Israeli born model, actor, entrepreneur and Instagram influencer, On Mekahel, as he prepares to debut his underwear brand, M.O. Underwear, with his ex-boyfriend. Season One of the IGTV reality series follows On’s journey of building his brand with his ex, dealing with manufacturing errors while navigating conflicting deadlines, a final product photo shoot, broken promises and the struggle of managing personal relations.

"I am really excited about sharing this part of my life and the opportunity to be featured on Revry,” says On. “It has been and still is a wild ride starting a business from the ground up. I hope that what people will take away from the show is that chasing dreams really gives meaning to life. With passion and determination the opportunities that we create for ourselves are endless and I wanted to show that even in a 'hook-up obsessed subculture', gay men can still fulfill relationship goals."

Revry’s CEO, Damian Pelliccione shares that “Revry is so excited to release PUTTING ON as our first reality series and on IGTV. The unique circumstances that brought On to our team were what made us love the series instantly. The idea was so fresh and true to life, going into business with an ex. It’s funny, sexy, and a perfect binge-worthy reality drama.”

"When I first met On Mekahel, I knew I had to create a series around his life,” says Colby Cote (Creator/Executive Producer at Visionary Studios). "His career and social life is fascinating, it’s a mix of indulgence and passion. You can find him at night hanging with celebrities and attending exclusive parties but during the day, you will see him hustling the town building his fashion and beauty empire. He merges his business and personal life in a way that is both dramatic and inspiring. It really is fascinating to watch and I look forward to sharing his life with everyone.”

#GivingTuesday: Your gift to GLAAD will be matched!

By Priya Patel, Senior Membership Manager - Digital Fundraising, GLAAD

It’s #GivingTuesday!

For GLAAD, this is the single most important fundraising day of the year -- and today only, a generous anonymous donor will match your gifts up to $20,000. The money we raise today will help determine the programs we’re able to run in 2019 and beyond, including support for LGBTQ youth and resistance to the Trump administration.

Will you make a tax-deductible gift of $25 right now to become an official member of GLAAD? Donate right now, and an anonymous donor will MATCH your gift!

This year, we’ve seen some of the worst attacks against LGBTQ people in history -- including the Trump administration’s effort to erase trans civil rights. But we’ve also seen amazing progress in our resistance. We took back the House and created a rainbow wave in November -- now it’s time to take back our rights and create the future we imagine.

Your gift today is about so much more than money, Drew. It’s about being counted as an official member of GLAAD. About knowing that every time you turn on the news and see an attack against LGBTQ people’s rights and humanity, you’re doing something about it. About being part of a loving, vibrant community of thousands of Americans banding together to create the world we imagine.

In 2019, we will fight for love. We will fight for acceptance. We will fight for each other.

That fight begins today. Are you in?

Make your #GivingTuesday donation of $25 right now to become an official member of GLAAD. Today only, your gift will be doubled with an anonymous match from a generous donor!

#GivingTuesday: Open To All

Did you know that MAP leads the national campaign to drive businesses to stand up to discrimination around the country?

It’s appalling to see viral videos of customers being refused service or patrons being harassed. We have heard from gay couples who are afraid to stop at restaurants on a cross-country drive, or people of color who are afraid to linger too long over a cup of coffee. People want to know they will be safe and welcome when they go about their daily lives.

That’s why MAP built the Open to All coalition, an intersectional public education effort in order to highlight the importance of protecting people from discrimination.

Open to All is very simple. It’s a public declaration that a business will treat people fairly—and a promise that if someone isn’t treated fairly that the business will take that seriously. It’s also a pledge to fight back against discrimination in communities across the United States.

Open to All is one of the most significant public education efforts to-date that unites and galvanizes national leaders in business, civic engagement, and the non-profit sector to take a stand for diversity, fairness, and equality.

Over the course of 2018, more than 200 nonprofit members spanning civil rights and racial justice organizations, LGBT equality organizations, health and disability organizations, faith organizations, and more have joined with businesses like Gap Inc., Marriott International, Yelp, and Levi Strauss & Co., and over 1,500 small businesses. Since launching this campaign, these businesses large and small have come together to publicly and visibly declare that they reject discrimination, sending a clear message that when businesses open their doors to the public, they should be Open to All.

MAP’s in-depth messaging research, thoughtful policy analysis, creative communications and public education strategies, and innovative team made this effort possible. And does your support.

That’s why they are asking you to give now to continue to grow the reach of Open to All to ensure that no one is turned away from a business because of who they are. Your donation to MAP today on #GivingTuesday is being matched dollar-for-dollar on Facebook.

Speedy Ortiz - I'm Blessed

Speedy Ortiz is wrapping up a massive year that saw the band release their critically acclaimed third album Twerp Verse, and go on extensive tours including headline dates and support tours with the likes of Liz Phair, The Breeders, Against Me!, as well as an opening slot at Fenway Park with The Foo Fighters.

Additionally, front person Sadie Dupuis released her first full-length collection of poetry entitled Mouthguard this Fall. Before the band ends the year with a few more tour dates , Speedy Ortiz shares a new music video, an animated, claymation portrayal of “I’m Blessed.”

“I was given an incredible amount of freedom and trust when making the music video for ‘I'm Blessed.’ The song already had so much creative imagery and Sadie, herself, was a great inspiration,” explains animator Hannah Darrah. “I hope viewers are able to appreciate the idea that we have the ability to summon different aspects of ourselves and we have the power to use those traits to save us from our own snakes and coyotes.”

Travel: Key West to Ring in the New Year with Colorful ‘Red Shoe Drop’

Thousands of revelers are expected to celebrate the arrival of 2019 with Key West’s annual New Year’s Eve “Red Shoe Drop,” also called the “drag queen drop,” slated for the night of Monday, Dec. 31.

The event is a warm-weather takeoff on New York City’s Times Square “ball drop” and has been televised worldwide by CNN in prior years.

Famed drag queen Sushi is set to be the star of the show, headquartered at the Bourbon St. Pub/New Orleans House complex at 724 Duval St., as she has for more than 20 years. Dressed in a stunning one-of-a-kind gown, she will perch in a super-sized red high-heel shoe suspended high above the spectators below.

“I design all of my New Year’s costumes from scratch, but I also have a large collection of rare vintage and collectible pieces from many eras and cultures that I’m always referencing for inspiration,” said Sushi, whose other name is Gary Marion.
