Are the culture wars over?

With staunch social conservative leaders such as the late Rev. Jerry Falwell (left) and the now-retired James Dobson out of politics, are the battles over issues such as marriage and abortion coming to an end?

Or are social conservatives simply switching tactics? Whatever is happening, political observers say they don't expect the issues will matter much in the 2012 elections.
