Action Alert: SLDN urges push to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell

Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN), a national, legal services and policy organization dedicated to ending Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (DADT), issued a national action alert today in a major senate push to repeal the discriminatory law. The first U.S. Senate vote could come early Tuesday morning.

Call your senator, like Ellie and Lauren above and tell them you support the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

“Our moment to repeal this terrible law is here, but the vote is close. Don’t take anything for granted and call your senators now,” said Aubrey Sarvis, Army veteran and executive director for Servicemembers Legal Defense Network. “Our opponents will filibuster and we need to help Majority Leader Harry Reid and Chairman Carl Levin get the 60 votes they need. Sen. John McCain has been a strong and vocal opponent from the start and it is critical that we beat back any filibuster threat, defeat attempts to strike repeal, and defeat any crippling amendments.”
