White House LGBT Conference on HIV/AIDS tomorrow

The White House LGBT Conference on HIV/AIDS will be held in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday, April 19, 2012.  The conference is hosted by the White House Office of Public Engagement and Office of National AIDS Policy in partnership with the Morehouse School of Medicine.  Participants will receive important updates from senior administration officials from the White House and have the opportunity to learn about Federal government resources and opportunities through workshop sessions.

The White House LGBT Conference on HIV/AIDS is part of a series of conferences that will be held around the country specifically focused on LGBT Americans.  These White House LGBT Conferences will provide grassroots leaders, community organizers, advocates, students, and interested citizens an opportunity to hear directly from the administration officials on our efforts on behalf of LGBT Americans.
The conference will begin with a morning plenary followed by afternoon workshops.  The morning session will be open to pre-credentialed media, and will include remarks by Dr. Grant Colfax, Director of the White House Office of National AIDS Policy and Dr. Kevin Fenton of the Centers for Disease Control, as well as nationally recognized experts on HIV/AIDS including Dr. David Satcher of Morehouse School of Medicine and Dr. David Malebranche of Emory School of Medicine.
