Marriage equality is helping shape presidential election

Marriage equality, abortion rights and women's access to birth control are three of the biggest issues that will decide this year's presidential election, The Associated Press reports

Democrats are expected to support marriage rights for same-sex couples, but a draft of the Republican Party platform released last week voices strong opposition to marriage equality.

The draft GOP platform is "bad with a capital ‘B.’" for gay people, according to R. Clarke Cooper, head of the Log Cabin Republicans.
