Midnight Deadline: One Colorado Needs 15 More Contributors

One Colorado is looking for 15 more donors before midnight tonight to take advantage of their matching grant from The Gay and Lesbian Fund for Colorado and reach their goal.

According to One Colorado, in 2012, One Colorado Education Fund has:
  • Helped start 68 new Gay-Straight Alliances in high schools -- a 55% increase to a total of 176 GSAs in high schools, middle schools, and colleges statewide
  • Trained 1,500 educators to better meet the needs of LGBT students
  • Released "Invisible: The State of LGBT Health" following a healthcare survey of nearly 1,200 LGBT Coloradans
  • Secured funding and hired a Health Policy Director to implement our LGBT Health Advocacy Plan
  • Begun a collaborative project with the Colorado Medical Society to measure the knowledge of healthcare providers and develop educational resources on LGBT Coloradans
  • Expanded a civil unions coalition to 140 organizations representing 1.2 million Coloradans in support of civil unions, including more than 200 faith leaders in partnership with Interfaith Alliance of Colorado
  • Generated nearly 30,000 contacts with elected officials through email, calls, and personal visits
  • Launched a joint-organizing project, "Colorado Love Knows No Borders," with the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition
