Buke and Gase's new album, General Dome, is out today on Brassland, and the band is revealing a curious new video for their song "Hiccup." The
video is a dizzying trip 'round the wheel. Perceptions are muddled,
scrambled, disassembled, and repurposed as images we are familiar with
transfigure into new ones.
In addition to this new video, the entire album is up and streaming on NPR Music's popular "First Listen" series. Stephen Thompson says the band "captures
the sound of restless minds as they revel in the joy and surprise of
creation. Without overtly evoking celebration, there's an air of delight
in every tiny sonic bombshell, as Arone Dyer and Aron Sanchez maneuver
their homemade instruments through songs that rumble and clamor and
grind with unmistakable electricity."
