States say they will recognize Utah marriages

The attorney general of Delaware, Beau Biden, announced Wednesday that the state will recognize the marriages of more than 1,300 same-sex couples who wed in Utah after a court ruling brought marriage equality to the state.

"Marriage equality is the law in Delaware and I strongly believe that individuals outside our state borders should be equally free to choose whom to love and whom to spend their lives with," Biden said. The state joins Maryland, Maine, Washington and the District of Columbia as the jurisdictions that have indicated they will recognize the marriages.
