Several
high-profile Republicans have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars
to a campaign aimed at pushing the House to pass the Employment Nondiscrimination Act.
"America is a place where the freedom to be who
you are shouldn't be a barrier to your ability to get a job and provide
for your family," said Paul Singer, a billionaire hedge fund founder who
gave $375,000 to the Americans for Workplace Opportunity coalition. Led
by the Human Rights Campaign, the campaign plans to send organizers to
the districts of key House lawmakers.
