Lambda Legal seeks same-sex spousal benefits for military vets

A lawsuit filed last week by Lambda Legal challenges the Department of Veterans Affairs over its policy to deny certain spousal benefits for same-couples living in states that do not recognize their unions. 

The suit argues that current policy violates the Supreme Court decision that struck down part of the Defense of Marriage Act.
