Trans citizens in India to benefit from housing quota

The Chhattisgarh state of India has set aside a housing quota for its transgender residents, a move that comes nearly a year after the Supreme Court of India recognized transgender citizens as a third gender. The state, which last year announced that it would cover the cost of gender reassignment surgery for its trans residents, is also home to India's first out trans mayor.
