It Gets Better Project's latest video featuring Jake Bain, former Division 1 football player and one of the first openly LGBTQ+ D1 football players. For the last decade, the It Gets Better Project has upheld a mission to empower, uplight and inspire the next generation of LGBTQ+ youth, and today Jake is an activist for the LGBTQ+ community and identities as Pansexual. Growing up Jake was always known for being a jock, which placed a lot of stress on him to fit into society’s stereotype for what a jock should be. From a young age, he was aware he was different and always knew he was attracted to boys and girls, but his eyes were not opened to the LGBTQ+ community until his older brother John came out as openly Gay during college.
