New Lone Tree Arts Center Executive Director Selected

The City of Lone Tree has announced the hiring of Nicolle Davies as the new Executive Director of the Lone Tree Arts Center. Through her previous service as the Executive Director of the Arapahoe County and Charleston, South Carolina library systems, Davies, a resident of Highlands Ranch and currently the Assistant Commissioner of the Colorado State Library, brings an excellent combination of leadership, communications, fundraising and community relations skills to this new role.

“In an impressive field of candidates, including four finalists each with a distinguished leadership background, Nicolle demonstrated that she would bring a new level of engagement and energy to the Lone Tree Arts Center as we build on its already impressive record of success,” said Seth Hoffman, Lone Tree City Manager.

Through an extensive national search, the City received more than 100 applications for the position and conducted 12 initial interviews before bringing in four finalists for an interview process that included three interview panels comprising a variety of Lone Tree business leaders, local arts partners, community members and City leadership.

“Nicolle Davies very quickly convinced our interview panel that she was the best fit for the Lone Tree Arts Center,” said Pamela Kelly, General Manager of the Park Meadows Retail Resort and Chair of the Lone Tree Arts Center Fund Board, who participated in the interview process. “We are even more excited to continue our longstanding partnership with the Arts Center with Nicolle at the helm.”

"I am thrilled to be joining the City and the staff at the Lone Tree Arts Center. I look forward to building on the enormous success the Arts Center has had during its first decade,” said Davies. “I am passionate about community building and the arts and look forward to combining these two areas of interest. Lone Tree is an exciting community, and I am glad to once again be working at the local level.”

Davies will begin hew new role as Executive Director at the Arts Center on June 4.

In addition to the hiring of Ms. Davies, the City is pleased to announce the promotion of Leigh Chandler to serve as the first Artistic Director of the Lone Tree Arts Center. Chandler, who will report to Davies, has served as the Marketing Director at the Arts Center for the past six years. Among many other impressive achievements, she has elevated the Arts Center’s marketing and customer relationship strategies to achieve more than $1 million in annual ticket revenue. Prior to coming to Lone Tree, Chandler served for eight years in a similar role at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington, VT.

“Over the past ten years, the Lone Tree Arts Center has established itself as a major cultural destination in the South Metro area due to its excellence in programming,” said Chandler. “I’m thrilled to build on this tremendous foundation to lead the artistic vision of the Lone Tree Arts Center in the years to come.”
