Honey Davenport Featured on New Victoria Williams Single “Blaqnificent”

Hollow Spirit Studios is releasing its most exciting collaboration to date. Victoria Williams has teamed up with fellow drag diva Honey Davenport for her newest single, “Blaqnificent,” an empowering call to stand up, be seen, and embrace one’s own exquisite beauty and skin color. Williams and Davenport co-wrote the

song with Barry Anderson, and the track was produced by Daniel Bailey and Dom Scott. “Blaqnificent” arrives on all digital platforms on Friday, November 5, 2021, with the official music video dropping the same day.

“Light skin, dark skin, pigment the change

Open your eyes, we all bleed the same

Pick out the melody and shadow switch the rhyme

Confident, intelligent, you gotta change your mind…”

Williams says, “The look and feel of “Blaqnificent” tips a hat to some of my favorite artists of the 1990s, the ones I grew up listening to with my mom. I pulled inspiration from such icons as Queen Latifah, En Vogue, DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince and Salt-N-Pepa. Getting to create art and music with Honey

Davenport has brought our friendship and sisterhood even closer. Watching Honey’s journey and growth over the years has inspired me not only as a drag queen, but also as a person of color.”

Davenport says “Working on this track with Victoria was and is so important to me. Because there is still a need and desire for black queer representation in the music industry. Working on a song that celebrates the excellence of our people in such a fun way has been such a rewarding experience. I just hope the rest of the world is as moved by Victoria and this project as I am.”
