At 99 years old, Norman Lear has no desire to slow down He and producing partner Brent Miller of Act III Productions have joined forces with Juan Pablo Di Pace (pictured, sigh) of Momento Films to launch the production of Di Pace’s LGBTQ+ romantic drama, For Another Time, Feb. 26, shooting on location in Duino, Italy, and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

For Another Time marks the most-recent feature Lear and Miller have boarded, following the success of their critically acclaimed films, Te Llevo Conmigo (I Carry You With Me) and the documentary Rita Moreno: Just A Girl Who Decided to Go For it.

Inspired by true events in his life, For Another Time was written by Di Pace, who also stars in the film, and will be co-directed by he and his editor, Andres Pepe Estrada.  Di Pace—known primarily for his roles in Fuller House on Netflix, A.D. The Movie and the upcoming The Mattachine Family—has a long-time working relationship with Estrada, known best for his work on the Argentinian films White Elephant, Murder Me Monster and The Summit.

Said Di Pace, “There’s a sacred tenderness in falling in love for the first time, often an all-encompassing event we can never reprise once it ends. I wanted to explore the idea of memory and how we romanticize it, sometimes blinding our path to love in the present.”

Commented Lear and Miller, “There’s no better backdrop for a love story—of any kind—than one that takes place in Italy.  We’re thrilled to support Juan Pablo ‘s vision of bringing a multicultural connection, regardless of age, gender or race, to the big screen.  And we couldn’t be prouder to support independent film and those who are making it.”

In addition to Lear and Miller, executive producers include Massimiliano Milic, CEO of Terroir Films; and Kent Gibbons. Producers are Juan Pablo Di PaceKristen Carroll, founder and CEO of SpoPro/Spotlight Productions and Immaterial Media; Guillermo Escalona; and Margret Hiddleston and Stephanie Slack from Off Camera Entertainment.

Said Carroll, whose production company SpoPro specializes in LGBTQ+ and diversity-forward programming, “The buying power of the LGBTQ+ population—two thirds of them in the targeted 18-34 age range—is $1 trillion, second only to the 50+ demographic for disposable income, and they are clamoring for stories and quality productions that reflect their experiences and lifestyles. We are excited to bring this inventive and nuanced story of love and self-discovery to a global audience.”
