AHF to Break Ground on New Affordable Housing in Miami

AHF and its Healthy Housing Foundation will host a groundbreaking and dedication ceremony in the Edgewater community of Miami, on Monday, March 21, 2022 to continue their ongoing commitment to address the rising affordable housing epidemic rampant in Miami and urban-cores across the country. The new building, the “Biscayne House” will be comprised of a 75-unit, 12-story high-rise, with on-site parking, which will serve as housing for low-income individuals.

The Biscayne House will be the 1st affordable housing site that the Healthy Housing Foundation has developed in South Florida, and its 14th property for extremely-low and low-income housing since late 2017 when AHF first kicked off its housing program. Healthy Housing Foundation also has plans to build other newly built affordable housing units in the Ft. Lauderdale area, near its AHF Southern Bureau Headquarters. In addition, many AHF affiliate organizations across the U.S. are also involved in providing affordable housing in their communities. The building was designed by Glavovic Studio founder, Margi G. Nothard of the Fort Lauderdale based, award-winning architecture firm, who has partnered with AHF and Healthy Housing Foundation on other projects created as affordable housing units. The unique project is an example of how to creatively utilize urban infill areas to maximize the development of affordable housing in dense urban areas.

AHF launched the Healthy Housing Foundation in 2017 to address the rampant affordable housing crisis sweeping the nation by providing fast, easy, and compassionate access to affordable housing with a focus on addressing the needs of low-income individuals, struggling families, youth.
