Better Tomorrow Seeks Program Director for New LGBTQIA2S+ Resource Center in Steamboat Springs

Better Tomorrow, a nonprofit organization based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Program Director for their new LGBTQIA2S+ resource center. This exciting opportunity involves leading and directing all LGBTQIA2S+ program operations, focusing on community outreach and education, health equity initiatives, and providing a safe community space for direct support.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director will launch and oversee the new program within the administrative framework of Better Tomorrow. The position requires 40 hours per week, including work outside normal business hours. It is a salaried position with benefits.

The selected candidate should have experience, background, or education related to the program's pillars of focus. A passion for working with the LGBTQIA2S+ community, particularly those experiencing abuse, violence, bullying, or victimization, is essential. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team is crucial. Previous supervision and management experience is preferred. Fluency in languages other than English and a diverse range of perspectives are encouraged.

The Program Director will also be involved in program management, including reviewing staff/contractor hours, ensuring appropriate staffing, researching best practices, and evaluating services and programming.

In terms of community outreach, the role requires proactive engagement with community members and organizations. This involves providing education opportunities, delivering presentations on LGBTQIA+ topics, and eventually establishing a "safe space" training and certification program for local businesses and organizations. Educational initiatives in local schools for harm reduction and prevention will also be prioritized.
