Hey Colorado Springs, when did you choose to be straight?

This one's an oldie but a goodie.

Boing Boing recently featured this video from a couple of years ago where a couple of guys conducted street interviews in Colorado Springs asking people when they chose to be straight.

Definitely worth a look.

Ascension III Fetish Ball this Saturday

This third installment in the Ascension Fetish Ball series takes place this Saturday at The Underground in Colorado Springs and promises to deliver devilish debauchery - including rope and hook suspensions, electrical play, burlesque, domination play, bootblacking, and sensation play - the likes of which have never (or almost never) been seen before in Colorado.
Ascension III Fetish Ball continues the tradition of provocative and interactive demonstrations in a fantastically unique environment. If you missed the first two, now is the time to experience the thrill and the kink of Ascension. All demonstrations are interactive, so if you're wondering what something feels like ... just ask and you'll find out.

Offering same-sex benefits is what's right, says Colorado Springs Gazette columnist Barry Noreen

From Colorado Springs--a voice of reason about benefits for same-sex partners. The Springs has gotten a bad rap because of Focus on the Family and some other nutso residents, but their GLBT community continues to thrive. Check out their Pride Center for the latest events and activities.

Straight artist/gay sensibility: Tom McElroy

He's straight, but that's okay--he's still an artist you might want to know. Colorado Springs artist Tom McElroy actually left Colorado when Amendment 2 passed because he didn't want his kids growing up in an anti-gay environment. But he's back, and his new Springs art show incorporates all the oddities of the Springs, including Reverend Righteous, who "says he can cure homosexuality, even though he's one, too." Sound like anybody we know? Check it out at FAC Modern, 121 S. Tejon St. in the Springs through March 28.
