Last year “NewNowNext Awards” brought you the electrifying and first-ever TV performance by Lady Gaga – before she began climbing the music charts and becoming the music and pop culture sensation she is today. In the same tradition this year’s awards will draw attention to what is new and next in music, film, television, online and pop culture. The “NewNowNext Awards” offers the LGBT perspective on what’s hot and hip in popular culture by honoring emerging and established artists and celebrities with such awards as Most Guiltiest Pleasure, Best Show You’re Not Watching and Brink of Fame: Music Artist. Unlike other awards shows, the “NewNowNext Awards” will not look at the year that passed, but will instead focus on what is up-and-coming in popular culture in 2009 and beyond. The 90-minute telecast will continue to put a spotlight on openly gay artists as well as all performers beloved by the LGBT community.

The groundbreaking “NewNowNext Awards,” is the first truly multi-platform awards show. Viewers will be able to experience different aspects of the event across a number of platforms, including on-air, online at the event’s principal website, on-demand and on mobile devices. The tent-pole event will also air on its sister websites AfterElton.com, NewNowNext.com and DowneLink.com and stream an online-only post show.

“NewNowNext Awards” 2009 builds on Logo’s acclaimed NewNowNext franchise, which includes a pop culture blog NewNowNext.com and two on-air music shows: “NewNowNext PopLab,” the home for party music in all its forms and “NewNowNext Music,” the ultimate music video destination of today's hottest artists and emerging musicians popular with the LGBT audience.

Logo’s inaugural show last year, hosted by Candis Cayne and Colman Domingo, honored Tina Fey, Janet Jackson, designer Christian Siriano (Project Runway,) Leona Lewis, Planet Unicorn and many more. The awards also featured performances and appearances by Lady Gaga, The Cliks, Dangerous Muse and Cyndi Lauper.
