ROTC student booted for gay porn shoot

South Florida Gay News has published a front page feature story revealing that a Florida-based Navy ROTC student is being discharged from the program solely because he has privately done gay pornography shoots to supplement his income.

The Navy ROTC program first placed Midshipman Andrew Koch, who goes by the stage name of Patrick Hunter, on an involuntary leave of absence, when they found out he had done porn. A Personnel Review Board (PRB) then unanimously recommended his discharge from the Navy ROTC program for “a serious moral offense, inconsistent with good order and discipline.”

Aside from recommending his discharge, the PRB is also seeking to recover tuition and fees that Koch had incurred in the program, totaling around $26,000.

Aided by private counsel, Koch has filed an appeal from this recommendation, insisting that he “meant no disrespect to the Navy, is not ashamed of gay sex,” asserting that his conduct was private and personal, and would not compromise his capacity to serve competently as a Naval officer if he were able to complete the program.

This is kind of embarrassing but I think I am addicted to porn. I watch it every day. I have little to no interest in physical relations with anybody else at this point. The thing is, I'm not sure if this is a problem or not because I feel like I am more satisfied with watching porn than I ever have been with the actual act with other people. Sex with other people can be awkward, messy or boring but porn is just about perfect every time. The only problem is that I have this nagging feeling that I should be trying to put more effort into my real life relationships. What do you think? Dear Pornaholic,

You must first ask yourself what it is you really want for yourself. Pornography, although useful (if you will) is not comparable to real-life intimacy. 

Do not make excuses for your lack of interest in another, or yourself for that matter. With the right partner, sex can be wonderful and full of pleasure.  Anonymous sex, although fun at the moment, does not suffice for the completion and fulfillment of spirit and self. There is no need to deem sex awkward with others, although you should be wise with your decisions. 

Why settle for the taxi, when you can take the jet? 

Interact with men who value your personality and respect your body.  A great partner possesses patience and passion when intimate. It is best if you disassociate yourself from the quick-fix scene, and start anew in your reality.  If sex is too messy or boring, you need to reevaluate your choices, and those you invite into your energy.  Whilst your undertone is laden with fear of intimacy, you must open your heart and be honest with what you know you deserve, and I am sure you deserve the best.   

Remember, visual stimulation can be helpful and assistive as long as you don’t get sucked into the virtual realm of smut and loneliness. In ancient times, sex was viewed as a means to release creative energy.  It is best to harness your energy and release when you need to, as you could be draining yourself of all desire and creative flow. Try releasing to imagery or your own fantasy – if you will, become one with your body once again and thus you train your stimuli to become more receptive to you and not what you watch.   

For now, focus on repairing your stimuli. Then go out and put effort into meeting the right person who will give you more pleasure than any porn ever has.  Be confident and cool, as you have nothing to fear, the right man will present himself at the right time. Focus on you and everything else will fall into place.

Porn company Corbin Fisher contributes $60,000 to gay rights

Well, here's one more reason to like gay production studio, CorbinFisher.com (NSFW).

They recently made a significant financial contribution to gay rights efforts in the state of Florida with a $60,000 donation to Equality Florida, one of the state's largest civil rights organizations, "dedicated to eliminating discrimination based on sexual orientation, race, gender and class". The donation is among several service and charity initiatives implemented by the company and is one of the largest financial contributions ever received by the advocacy group.

The donation to Equality Florida followed a chance encounter, according to Corbin Fisher CEO, Jason Gibson, at a cocktail party.

"Through mutual friends and acquaintances at this function, I had the pleasure of meeting several individuals who spend tremendous amounts of time and energy fighting discrimination against GLBT Floridians," recalls Gibson. "I was moved by the extent of their enthusiasm, impressed by their dedication, and further impressed by their considerable accomplishments in pursuing their mission to end discrimination and harassment based on sexual orientation."

Corbin Fisher regularly donates to various gay rights groups and charities, including similar advocacy and education organizations in California and at the national level. The contribution to Equality Florida marks its biggest single donation to an individual group, however.

"Beyond gay rights being a cause more than worthy of whatever support we can offer, and beyond Equality Florida being a remarkable and effective organization pursuing that cause, the tireless work of such organizations and the individuals behind them have a very real impact upon the lives of our employees, our friends, and our members," notes Gibson.

Corbin Fisher executives regularly meet to discuss ways to contribute to worthwhile causes, according to COO Brian Dunlap. "We understand that our audience comes to us for the content that we produce, but also recognize and appreciate that having such a large audience offers an opportunity to positively impact a variety of causes." Time names Advocate cover one of the year's best

L.A. County sued for not regulating porn shoots

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation has filed a suit to order condom use on porn shoots in L.A. County. The suit comes after a number of (mostly heterosexual) porn actors were diagnosed with HIV.

“The Department of Public Health has a responsibility to try and control the spread of STDs in LA County—particularly in a commercial venue. Despite this responsibility, 29 days after an outbreak of a potentially lethal virus—HIV—in the porn industry, the County has not taken a single step to address this serious public health threat,” said Michael Weinstein, President of AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

“As an HIV and STD medical provider, it is our obligation to pursue County action on this issue, which goes beyond just the recent HIV outbreak and includes an epidemic of thousands of STD cases in the porn industry—an epidemic virtually ignored by the County Dept. of Public Health. This is not just about one industry, but about our entire community as the spread of disease among performers endangers themselves as well as their sexual partners outside the industry. There is no firewall between porn performers and the general public.”
