Human
Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and
transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, recently released a video ad
featuring actress Busy Philipps. In the video, Philipps states, “Gay
and lesbian couples just want to be treated like everyone else – nothing
more, nothing less. Join me and the majority of Americans who support
marriage equality nationwide.”
“Like most Americans, Busy Philipps knows that committed and loving gay
and lesbian couples deserve equal treatment under the law,” said HRC
President Chad Griffin. “Busy has been an incredible advocate for
equality over the years, and we’re thrilled to have her join this
campaign.”
Busy Philipps is known for her roles on the television series Freaks and Geeks and the iconic Dawson's Creek. She currently plays Laurie Keller in the hit television series Cougar Town, a role that earned her a Critic’s Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Season 4 of Cougar Town premieres January 8 on TBS.
