Colorado River Outfitters Association's Wild & Wet Adventures Continue Through September

We Coloradoans are reluctant to give up the summer and so are the rivers. With early season rainfall and large amounts of snow runoff, the 2014 rafting season won’t be slowing down anytime soon. This year, Colorado river outfitters are offering customers a variety of wild and wet adventures to experience late-season rafting in Colorado in a whole new way.

Check out some examples of the specialty, late season trips available from Colorado river outfitters after the cut.

Colorado Whitewater Rafting
Half-Day Trip: Colorado Whitewater Rafting’s most popular trip is running now through September 16! This three hour trip kicks off with exciting rapids and eventually mellows enough that adventurers are invited to stop and soak where natural hot springs flow into the river. The expert guide will educate the crew on the incredible history of Glenwood Canyon and the Colorado River.

Arkansas Valley Adventures
Shoshone Rapids: Wind through 1,500 foot-high walls of red rock for breathtaking views of Glenwood Canyon, splashing through the Shoshone Rapids of the Colorado River with family and friends! This is the perfect trip for the first-time rafter, families with children and the visitors looking to enjoy some of Colorado’s most beautiful scenery. Be sure to look out for mountain goats grazing on the Shoshone’s banks or balancing carefully on the rock walls. Whitewater sections will thrill you with rapids called the Man Eater, The Wall and Tombstone, while mellow sections will allow a chance to take in the views. After the trip, be sure to visit the Glenwood Hot Springs – the world’s largest hot springs pool.

Adventure Bound USA
Ruby Wildlife-Watching Rafting Trip: Join Adventure Bound USA guides on a two-day, 25-mile scenic trip down the Colorado River, offering breathtaking views of dramatic canyon vistas, wildlife sightings and hiking. Keep your eyes peeled for lizards scurrying along the sandstone and black rocks, bald and golden eagles soaring overhead and even otters playing along the riverbanks. Trips are available through the end of September.

Blue Sky Adventures
Half-Day Adventure: Blue Sky Adventures’ most popular trip is now running through the end of September. The Half-Day Adventure trip will splash through the “famous” Shoshone rapids and wind through the majestic walls of the Glenwood Canyon. There’s no better way to see the all the beauty that the Colorado River has to offer.

Mild to Wild
Full-Day Lower Animas River Trip: Make your way down to Durango, Colo. for a full day of family fun! The Lower Animas River full-day trip offers “wet and fun” Class III rapids, several Class II “splashes” and some relaxed floating, making it the perfect trip for everyone. If you want to step up the adventure experience, inflatable kayaks can make their way down the river at the same time as the full day raft trip! Mild to Wild will treat you to a delicious and scenic riverside lunch.
