Fix The Court: Historic Marriage Equality Case Should Be Televised; Audio Not Enough

In response to Supreme Court announcing today that they will release same-day audio transcripts of the upcoming marriage equality case, the non-partisan group, Fix The Court release the following statement:

"Today's same-day audio announcement makes it seem as if the justices are picking and choosing which case is the most important one of the term. Instead, Chief Justice Roberts should establish a standard, more open media policy at the Supreme Court, one that includes live video and audio coverage of its hearings and decision announcements.

"Congressional debates are televised. White House briefings are televised. There is no reason the Supreme Court shouldn't be televised, too.”
