The Birdcage

This Hollywood adaptation of the French play, La Cage Aux Folles, was made a little over 10 years ago. As a gay-themed mainstream movie, it was groundbreaking at the time but the 'let's pretend we're straight for the benefit of our son's potential in-laws" plot has now thankfully passed over into the realm of the charmingly quaint. The Arvada Center, will be presenting the stage version of La Cage Aux Folles, written by Harvey Fierstein, through December.
