Dead of Summer: Poultrygeist

The Denver Film Society's Seven week zombie series THE DEAD OF SUMMER kicks off this Friday at the Starz FilmCenter with an Exclusive One Week Engagement of the latest bloody good time from Troma Entertainment, POULTRYGEIST: NIGHT OF THE CHICKEN DEAD.

What if Night Of The Living Dead and Fast Food Nation were ground together in the same gory meat grinder? Find out in this awesomely disgusting--and disgustingly awesome--satire from director Lloyd Kaufman (The Toxic Avenger). When a fast food chain builds a restaurant on an Indian burial ground, people begin to die in disgusting ways that would only happen in a Troma film. Meanwhile, a man named Arbie (Jason Yachanin) is trying to win back his ex-girlfriend Wendy (Kate Graham). But his new employment at the American Chicken Bunker restaurant, Wendy's new girlfriend Micki (Allyson Sereboff), and evil chicken spirits bringing the dead carcasses back to life threaten to ruin his plans.

Joining The Dead for a Q&A after the 7:30pm show on Saturday, July 5 with Denver natives, Richard Taylor and Zack Beins. They were responsible for making over 200 gallons of fake blood for the film and finding creative ways to squirt it out. They also have small acting parts in the film (as Chicken Zombies no less).

Currently the two make Horror/Comedy films here in Denver and their film The Misled Romance Of Cannibal Girl And Incest Boy has just been distributed with Troma Entertainment starring director Lloyd Kaufman himself.

Check out the trailer below (mildy NSFW for sassy comedy and silly gore).

God love Troma Entertainment. And Ron Jeremy.
