Denver Auto Show opens today


The 2009 Denver Auto Show opens today at 5 p.m. at the Colorado Convention Center and runs through April 5 featuring the "Car of the Year", 'Green' cars, 2010 models, Exotics, and much more.

Despite the challenges in today’s auto industry, the major domestic and import manufacturers have committed to showcasing their newest and award-winning cars, vans, light trucks, and sport utilities at the 2009 Denver Auto Show. ()

Many of the more than 500 vehicles will be seen for the first time in Denver. The lineup includes crossovers, hybrids, classic cars, hot rods, exotics, luxury, and the latest in “green cars.”

Timeline of Events:
2009 Media Preview Day-- sponsored by Rocky Mountain Auto Press Association (RMAPA)
2:30pm -- Ford introduces 2010 Fusion Hybrid and its sustainability/green efforts
3:00pm -- Lincoln features 2010 MKT
4:00pm -- RMAPA announces 2009 Outstanding Vehicle Awards (car, truck, SUV, environmentally friendly)
4:00 pm -- Green Tie Charity Preview benefits the Clear the Air Foundation
5:00 pm -- Ribbon Cutting to Official Open the 2009 Denver Auto Show

The 2009 Denver Auto Show is presented by the Metro Denver Automobile Dealers Association (MDADA). The Denver Auto Show is the largest new car display between the Mississippi River and Los Angeles. It’s also one of the oldest auto shows in the nation having begun in 1902.
