Broncos cut nine from the roster


The Broncos announced the release of nine players on Friday, moving a step toward trimming the roster to the NFL mandated 53 players by Saturday afternoon.

On the offensive side of the ball, Ingle Martin, Kory Lichtensteiger, Clint Oldenburg, Nate Swift and Marcus Thomas were released.

The defensive players in the transaction were Matthias Askew, Rashod Moulton, Carlton Powell and Lee Robinson.

In a separate move, Matt McChesney was placed on the reserve/injured list.
