Broncos win first AFC West matchup

The Broncos improved to 3-0 on the season by beating the Oakland Raiders 23-3 Sunday afternoon at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.

A complete team effort helped the Broncos win their first AFC West matchup of the season.

On offense, Correll Buckhalter (108 yards on 14 carries) and Knowshon Moreno (90 yards on 21 carries) combined for 198 rushing yards. Meanwhile, Brandon Marshall paced the club in receiving yards, totaling five catches for 67 yards, including a first-quarter touchdown reception. Kyle Orton once again played turnover-free ball, going 13-of-23 for 157 yards and connecting with Marshall for the early score.

For the third-straight game, the Denver defense played stellar from start to finish, forcing three Oakland turnovers and recording three sacks. In all, defensive coordinator Mike Nolan's unit held the Raiders to 137 yards of total offense.
