Gay asylum-seekers on the rise?


Although exact figures are not available, anecdotal evidence suggests the number of cases of LGBT people seeking asylum in the U.S. because of their sexual orientation is on the rise, according to this Newsweek article. However, the U.S., while recently improving its policies, reportedly still offers an inconsistent stance towards those seeking such asylum, depending on where the application is being sought.
