Poll: Out U.S. president would get backing from 50% of Americans

Half of Americans would give their backing to an out U.S. president, and 44% would oppose an openly gay commander in chief, according to a "60 Minutes"/Vanity Fair poll.

The survey also showed more than half would support a gay Supreme Court justice or secretary of state. Those polled exhibited the most enthusiasm for an out Super Bowl quarterback, with nearly two in three giving their OK.
