Pharrell Williams launches Kidult.com

Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter/producer Pharrell Williams has announced the launch of Kidult.com, an online venture inspired by his teenage fans. Kidult delivers news and information to young adults in an engaging manner that respects their intelligence and media savvy.

“Kidult is a reliable news source that speaks directly to teenagers,” says Williams. “It also gives them a chance to get involved and speak to other young people about issues they care about.”

The site’s editorial team reports on politics, technology, health, fashion, science, environment, business, sports, gaming, and entertainment. Multiple news articles are published daily. Along with current affairs, Kidult writers conduct interviews with celebrities and “Cool Job” professionals. The Interview section already includes Q&As with Will.I.Am, Justin Bieber, Miranda Cosgrove, the Talent Coordinator for The Daily Show, and the Head Costume Designer for American Idol, among others.

A hefty amount of user-generated content is also available on the site. Aspiring young writers are invited  to the blog community to exchange ideas. The Video section is educational and entertaining. It includes Kidult-made videos and others from across the web.

Finally, for those who want to click and play, there’s interactive functionality on every page. Political polls are conducted regularly, videos are posted daily, and each News section has its own customized functionality. In Business-News, users can learn how to pay off credit card debt. In Sports, users can check their favorite pro team’s record. In Politics, users can listen to President Obama’s weekly radio address.
