The Gay & Lesbian Leadership Institute announced
10 winners of scholarships to attend the Harvard Kennedy School this summer. Among those selected to become David Bohnett Leadership Fellows: Kim Iwamoto (left), an openly transgender woman who was elected to the Hawaii Board of Education; Joel Burns, a member of the City Council in Fort Worth, Texas; and Ian Palmquist, executive director of Equality North Carolina.
