Don't Ask, Don't Tell returns!

Military recruiters began accepting applications from openly gay recruits earlier this week, but a panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals put a stop to that on Wednesday, issuing a temporary stay of a lower-court judge's order that the military suspend enforcing the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy worldwide. The appellate court was responding to a request from the Justice Department. Repeal advocates say the military's response during the brief period when the ban was not enforced proves it can end the policy permanently and quickly when instructed to do so.
