U.S. senator opposes gay teachers

What year is this again? U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., said neither openly gay people nor sexually active unmarried women should be allowed to teach in the classroom.

DeMint told a crowd of supporters those ideas don't make him popular within his party, but added that supporters have told him to maintain his position.
